Today was the big school walk out. And the public school system managed to totally neuter it. In an effort to support it, they scheduled and controlled. The protests was worked into the schedule so the kids wouldn't miss class. The moment of silence was shortened from 17 minutes to 1 min, 7 seconds.
Many of my students weren't interested at all. Even some who we decided not to go because it was cold.
Overall, it was thoroughly disappointing.
