Punctuation

I heard this NPR report about how many people read the use of a period at the end of a sentence in text messages as passive aggressive. Now I'm double checking every text and worrying over what parents and students have perceived my tone to be in these last 6 months. Hopefully the know I'm an old lady English teacher and I just don't know any better.
