6 Weeks?!
I was just told by HR that even though I have over 12 weeks of sick leave accumulated and I'm allowed to take 12 weeks of maternity leave, I'm only allowed to use my sick leave for 6 of those weeks- the other 6 will have to be UNPAID. Even though I have enough sick leave to cover the other half. This is complete BS.

Yeah that's standard policy. It's stupid, but pretty common at most jobs. Do you have Short Term Disability? If so, you can get 60% of your pay for the other 6 weeks.
