Presents for Me!

I ordered a few little presents for myself with my graduation money and they came today!

(That last one is a pizza peel- not a paddle to beat the kids with)

Another Meeting

I'm beginning to think I'll never again get to leave school before 4 again.  On a positive note, I'm feeling much more peaceful and optimistic today than yesterday.

Super Glue

I just squirted almost half a tube if super glue all over my left hand and desk.  I am ridiculous.

Today's Mantra

"Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful."  Luke 6:36

Note to Self

"Oh the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God.
How unsearchable his judgements and his paths beyond tracing out.
Who has known the mind of the Lord?  Or who has been his couselor?
Who has ever given to God that God should repay him?
For from him and through him and to him are all things.
To him be the glory forever! Amen"
Romans 11:33-36

Never Ending

Faculty Meeting.  Will this day ever end?

Nightmare

My laminator nightmare just came true.  I walked away from something while laminating and FORGOT about it for at least 15 minutes.  It ran for that long.  Just wasting film.  I'm so mad at myself.

Confrontation

I just confronted the new principal.  I think I'm going to throw up.

Positive

I'm trying really hard to be positive, joyful, and hopeful. Now I have you, oh blogging world, to hold me accountable.

Laminator

I dreamed I left the laminator running too long.  It overheated, it ran out of film, it was bad.  I just finished some laminating here at school and the film peeled off one of the pieces.  I hate that laminator.

Left Overs

I am really looking forward to eating left-over wedding cake this evening.

District 9

After spending some time with Todd (he came to church and to lunch with us) we went to see District 9. Though I don't really care for people's heads getting blown up every few minutes, I did think the special effect were pretty impressive.

Friends of Friends

I have to say, my friends have good taste in friends. Over the past 2 wedding weekends, I have met some great people, I can see why my friends are friends with them. I want to be their friends, too!

Rehersal Dinner

Second Friday evening in a row spent at a wonderful rehearsal dinner full of good food and great friends.

RAGE

The phrase "No Child Left Behind" triggers a rage filled Pavlovian response to scream obscenities and quit my job. It should never be used in a faculty meeting. Especially on a Friday.

You've Got To Be Kidding

A faculty meeting?  On a Friday?  And I have to set up and take down a projection system?  And you want me to film it too?  Ugh.  I just want a nap.

Thankful

The rest of the school stresses over scheduling, gradebooks, and attendace and I am thankful to be independent in my library, insulated by my walls of books.

Doughnut Friday

There are usually doughnuts in the teacher workroom on Fridays.  Today, I picked the chocolate one with sprinkles, though I can't eat it yet.  My tummy is upset.

Worrying

They said they would mail my diploma on Thursday.  It's been over a week and it's still not here, so I'm stressing that they messed up and it's not coming and therefore that my raise isn't coming.  I'm trying not to worry, but it's not working very well.

Party!

Going to Dani's bachelorette party tonight. Tacos and lingerie!

Books

There are almost 8,000 books in my library.  All those words, ideas, characters, adventures... and every day, I get to hand them out to children.  My job is awesome.

Dead Weight

I was totally useless at trivia this evening. I didn't know a single answer.

Trust Me

The new principal does not appear to trust us.  It's frustrating, but I am determined to show her.  I can do my job.  We all are good teachers.  She can back off.  We can handle things.  She can trust us.  And I hope she will with time.
